The Silenus 2010 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is made with grapes from our estate vineyard surrounding the winery. It is a blend of the very best Cabernet Sauvignon lots with a touch of estate Cabernet Franc and estate Petit Verdot. The wine was aged for 22 months in 60% new French oak barrels, 10% new American oak barrels and 30% neutral oak barrels.
The Silenus Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark ruby-red color with a lush, inviting nose filled with aromas of toasted vanilla, ripe berries, anise and oak. The aromas carry over to the palate and the wine has rich, dense flavors of baked cherry, Cassis, oak and spice. It has a long, warm finish where the fruit flavors eventually evolve into roasted hazelnut and cocoa. This is a dynamic wine that will age extremely well.
