The Silenus 2011 Napa Valley Merlot is a blend of three Merlot vineyards as well as a dose of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Arger Vineyard on Atlas Peak, and touch of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Petite Sirah. The result is a complex and flavorful Merlot. The wine is aged in 40% new French oak and 60% neutral oak barrels.

Tasting Notes:

The wine has deep ruby and garnet hue and a seductive nose of dried fruit, berries, violets and toasted oak. The palate is rich and soft with deep plum, black cherry and boysenberry fruit with a hint of black olive. On the finish the fruit flavors evolve into chocolate and roasted nuts.
