Farmed by direct descendants of naturalist and conservationist John Muir, the Muir-Hanna Vineyard is a model of sustainability. The vineyard is Napa Green FFF (Fish Friendly Farming) certified to protect the area waterways. This attention to fish ecology has immense benefits to the soil and plant health of this vineyard. You can bet there are birds and butterflies there.

Tasting Notes:

This Napa Valley Chardonnay has a lively nose of Meyer lemon curd, baking spices, and honey. It is a complex and fascinating blend of aromas with melon, grilled pineapple, pear cider, marmalade, and honeysuckle. Secondary aromas of clove and mace are the result of French oak barrel aging.

The wine was fermented in French oak barrels rather than in tanks, giving better oak integration. Half of the barrels were new, contributing notes of sweet spice from the charred staves. We prevented the secondary, malolactic fermentation to retain the bright acidity. The texture is creamy with ample body.
