This sparkling wine is 100% Malvasia Bianca, a grape with ancient origins. It is believed to have Greek roots with sources claiming first sightings were on the island of Crete. Malvasia Bianca is characterized by its golden color, aromas of honey, peaches, almonds and tropical notes and a round, soft texture in the mid-palate.

The grapes come from the Suisun Valley appellation, which was established in 1982 and is nestled between two costal mountain ranges, located southeast of Napa Valley.

Capp Inn Ranch vineyard was planted in 1995 by the Capp family. The vineyard sits at 180 ft elevation. The soil is Brentwood Series which is clay loam, which drains well, yet retains moisture keeping it available to the vines. The daytime temperatures are moderate enough to ripen the Malvasia Bianca. Then the cool evening breeze arrives and drops the temperature, thus cooling the vines and retaining vibrancy in the fruit.

Tasting Notes:

The 2021 Malvasia Bianca presents a beautiful golden color, true to its varietal. Aromas of apple with hints of honey and jasmine greet the nose. The palate continues with apple and bright acidity with flavors of Meyer lemon with a dash of honeysuckle. Its juicy acidity is balanced by its round texture leading to a touch of caramel and notes of lemon zest. Rich, layered and a beautiful finish.

This is a very versatile wine that can be paired easily with delicate fish and seafood dishes as well as Cajun

etouffée and gumbo and even pairs well with Asian gyoza or moo shoo pork.
