  • What is Roussanne?

  • Roussanneis a white grape grown originally in the Rhône wine region in France, where it is often blended with Marsanne. It is the only other white variety, besides Marsanne, allowed in the northern Rhône appellations of Crozes-Hermitage AOC, Hermitage AOC and Saint-Joseph AOC.

  • Vineyard: Krupp Brothers new vineyard on Hardman Road between Luna and Silverado Country Club. Jan Krupp is the former owner of the famous Stagecoach Vineyard until 2017 and he is known as one of the best farmers in the valley.

  • Production: Minimal intervention, this wine was pressed whole cluster and fermented in barrel before being aged in 10% new oak for 10 months after a 10% ML fermentation. Minimal SO2 was used and the wine was bottled completely unfiltered, therefore you will see a slight sediment in the bottle.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Huge boquet of perfume in the form of white flower, jasmine, honeysuckle and apricot skin.

  • Entry: Beeswax, pear, round acidity complimented with beeswax and lanolin. Slight minerality on the mid-palate.

  • Palate: Lemon zest, bergamot, and geranium give way to a green apple and Bartlett pear finish, with a lingering acidity that gives the wine structure and depth.
