Vineyard Notes

Merlot from the Ranch 9 Vineyard acts as the “base” for this wine. The vineyard is located at south-east end of the Napa Valley. Due to the proximity to the San Pablo Bay, this area of Napa Valley tends to be cooler during the afternoon, which is critical for growing rich and complex Merlot. We also blended in 16% Merlot from the Mitchell Vineyard which sits half way up the hill on the west side of the Napa Valley near the town of Yountville. The final 16% comes from the Darms Lane vineyard the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley.

Tasting Notes:

Clear, ruby red color. Vanilla, oak, cocoa and ripe plum on the nose. Rich red fruit on the attack. Dense mouthfeel. Deep fruit flavors of raspberry, cherry and spice. Very long and full finish of cherry pie and mocha.  This is a very nice wine.

Serve with thick pork chops, tender roast chicken or duck.

blend:

This wine is 100% Merlot: 75% from “Ranch 9”, Monticello Road, Napa Valley; 16% from Mitchell Vineyard in Yountville, Napa Valley; and 9% from the Darms Lane vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley.
