Our small production Napa Valley Red Wine is always a blend of Bordeaux varietals, with the composition changing with each vintage year. The 2017 Red Wine is a blend of Napa Valley Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, both coming from the cooler Oak Knoll District, along with additional Merlot from St. Helena.
The wine is ready to drink now. Time in cellar will only add to the
complexity and evolution of tertiary aromas and bouquet. This wine will cellar 10 to 12 years.
The initial impression is concentrated aromas of fermented blackberry, pie
cherries, and cracked black pepper.
The palate is lush with ripe, dark fruit notes of Japanese black plums and a glow of sour cherry and hibiscus tea. The tannin structure is soft, velvety, and supple. The finish is long with exotic hints of tamarind, blackstrap molasses, and rum raisin.
