Our estate vineyard is located on a special parcel in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The vineyard borders Dry Creek at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range and is located in the largest of 10 alluvial fan belts in Napa Valley. The well-drained sandy and gravelly loam soils, in partnership with moderate temperatures, yield concentrated fruit with great flavor intensity, yet a supple mouth-feel. The vineyard is planted to three different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Each of the four vineyard blocks were hand-harvested at dawn and carefully sorted by eight sets of hands. The wine is aged for 20 months in an assortment of French oak barrels that are chosen to complement the subtle nuances of the vineyard. The selection of these barrels further enhances the length, depth and complexity of this varietal and reveals a well-integrated wine that is made to last.

Tasting Notes:

Hues of crimson jewel drape the glass while essence of blackberry puree, toasted oak, balsamic reduction and reminiscent of a chocolate coated strawberry grace the nose. The palate is rich and balanced, featuring supple tannin and a soft acidity. Accents of cranberry compote, baked blackberry, plum preserves and café mocha shine. Espresso bean freshly cut rosemary, vanilla cream and hazelnut crunch glide along the lengthy finish.
