The majority of the 2016 Silenus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our estate vineyard located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. This is a very special location adjacent to Dry Creek and the vineyard has a long history of producing extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon. From the 1970’s through the early 2000’s a portion of the vineyard was sold to Robert Mondavi and used in his Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Mr. Mondavi would personally visit each year to inspect and review the vineyard.
Intense ruby red in color with aromas of cassis, plum, black cherry, cinnamon and toasted vanilla. The wine dances on the palate with rich fruit flavors of raspberry, ripe cherry, and plum with cocoa and black pepper notes joining in. The rich fruit flavors evolve into a graceful finish loaded with red fruit and chocolate. The wine is lush while maintaining a bright freshness through finish. This wine is THE classic wine to pair with red meat and rich soft cheeses.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Silenus Estate Vineyard, Oak Knoll District. 44% Clone 4, 37% Clone 15 and 19% Clone 337.
