The fruit comes from a single vineyard close to the River that a prominent producer uses for their estate Pinot Noir. Located in the Sonoma Valley, the Russian River Valley was granted AVA status in 1983. Moderate in climate, the region experiences warm days and a cooling fog that rolls in from the Pacific Ocean, typically at night.
The 2018 Russian River Pinot is a true expression of the Russian River Valley. This youthful Pinot is an explosion of bright fruit, dried strawberries, cherry, and red fruits along with notes of cola and anise. Fruity, without giving up its vital energy, this well-focused wine is full on the palate and has a rich texture. A suppleness provides it with early accessibility. Its tannins jump out and end with nice acidity. Enjoy it now and over the next 6-10 years.
