Vineyard Notes: Shifflett Ranch in west foothills of Oak Knoll, musqué clone, family owned vineyard since 1940’s, bale clay loam soil, neighbors include Dominus and Trefethen.
Combining the varietal styles from France, New Zealand, and California, this SB provides incredible aromatics immediately with a tropical nose of white flower, honey, and lemon merengue pie. A round entry of peach pit, jasmine, and citrus highlight a racy acidity that carries to the back of the palate with a texture and weight rarely found in Sauvignon Blanc. Finish of honeysuckle, beeswax, and lime zest.
100% Sauvignon Blanc, Shifflett Ranch, Napa
Picked at 21.4 brix, whole cluster press, barrel fermented, nine months in French oak, 20% new oak lighter toast, 20% ML complete, stirred on lees 2x month, unfiltered. 13.6% ABV, 125 cases produced. Retail: $50
